How can we learn to trust God's presence, promises, and timing when we're still waiting for Him to answer our prayers?
“God even if you don't answer me, your presence is enough.” Pastor Bil Cornelius
What is one practical step you can take this week to trust God while you wait—whether that's changing the way you pray, surrendering a situation you've been trying to control, or choosing to be faithful without having all the answers?
Scriptures
Answer me when I call, O God! ...You have relieved me in my distress; Be gracious to me and hear my prayer. Psalm 4:1 NAS
“I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:1-3 NLT
Some time later, the LORD spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.” But Abram replied, “O Sovereign LORD, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? ...you will have a son of your own...” Then the LORD took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!” Genesis 15:1-5 NLT.
So Sarai said to Abram, “The LORD has prevented me from having children. Go and sleep with my servant. Perhaps I can have children through her.” And Abram agreed with Sarai’s proposal. So Sarai...gave her to Abram as a wife. (This happened ten years after Abram had settled in the land of Canaan.)...Hagar...became pregnant. ...she began to treat her mistress, Sarai, with contempt. Then Sarai said to Abram, “This is all your fault! I put my servant into your arms, but now that she’s pregnant she treats me with contempt. The LORD will show who’s wrong—you or me!” Genesis 16:2-5 NLT
“...Maybe I can build a family through her.” Genesis 16:2 GW
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
Then God said to Abraham, “Regarding Sarai, your wife—her name will no longer be Sarai. From now on her name will be Sarah. And I will bless her and give you a son from her! Yes, I will bless her richly, and she will become the mother of many nations. Kings of nations will be among her descendants.” Then Abraham bowed down to the ground, but he laughed to himself in disbelief. “How could I become a father at the age of 100?” he thought. Genesis 17:15-17 NLT
